Good morning!  I hope you are all enjoying a nice long weekend.  I wanted to send out a few reminders.  Tomorrow we will meet as usual for our regular Den Meetings.

I hope you all are doing well selling your scout adventure cards!  If you need more to sell please see Jennifer tomorrow night.  And if you think you are done selling and have extra cards, you can turn those into Jennifer as well.  Along with any money you have earned to date. Below are the links to sign up for booth sales.  There are only two weekends left to sell and there are still spots at both locations on both weekends.  IMPORTANT REMINDER:  It is absolutely REQUIRED that you stay at the booth with your cubscout during booth sales.  Cubs should also be in uniform to sell.  We also have discussed donations and have decided that for the cubscouts selling, all donations will go to purchasing a card for first responders and count towards the total card count for those cubs during that sale time.  This will help many of you have already received donations reach your goal.   Continue to track donations during your selling time as you have and Jennifer will take care of getting cards to first responders with the council.   Let her or I know if there are any questions.

Used or New Sneaker Donation - We are starting a new service project where we are going to collect both new and used sneakers in any condition to keep them out of landfills and also as a fundraiser for the pack.  The way it works....you bring in your sneakers.  When we have enough to ship we send them off.  The better condition they are in - the more money we make.  But the over all benefit is to keep them out of landfills.  So bring in those sneakers and drop them off in the scout room!

Scouting for Food - Jan 28 at 9am we will meet in the church parking lot on the Wesley Hall side to distribute our door hangers for Scouting for Food!  Each group will receive a map and door hangers for a specific neighborhood.  The more that come out to help, the faster this goes!  Feb 4 we will then go to the same neighborhoods and pick up any food that was left for us.  It will then get donated to Pilgrims Inn.

Pinewood Derby - Feb 4 is our Pinewood Derby!  We will meet in the gym and start the race about 1pm.  I believe the Troop members are cooking lunch for us to purchase if interested in between the food pick up and the pinewood derby. Everyone should have received their car by now.  If you still need one please see me on Monday!  If you need help cutting your car please let me or your leader know so that we can find a way to help!  This is a fun event that your cub will not want to miss!!!

Scout Sunday is Feb 12 at Woodland UMC.  Service begins at 10:30am and will be led by the scouts. After the service we will have a dedication and tour of our new science lab.  Following the dedication, everyone is invited to attend the potluck.  Bring a side dish or dessert if you are coming. After lunch, our very own Ms. Juliette and others, have offered to teach the Duty to God requirement.  If you do not attend this class, you will be required to do this at home with you scout, for almost all dens.  If you plan on attending please sign up here: https://forms.gle/mm1DujuXtjDZqkL49

Blue and Gold - Feb 27 we will celebrate all of our scouts that have worked hard on finishing their rank requirements to earn their official badge.  Dinner will be included.  After our rank up ceremony and dinner, we will have a very special ceremony for our AOL scouts that will be crossing over into the Troop!  This is a very special ceremony and I encourage all of you to attend.  This will also be the last time the AOL scouts will meet with the pack!  Time goes by so very quickly!  But this is a reminder to make sure that all of your scouts are working on getting their requirements complete.  Please see your den leader if you have any concerns.

Final payments for NASA  have been added to your accounts.  You can wait and use the money earned from scouting adventure card sales if you like, to help pay for this.  Final payment is due February 14th.  There will not be anyone permitted to go if final payment is not made.  Please see me if you think you need assistance. After payment is made we will send out details on all you need to know, along with a special surprise!

Social Media - for those of you that do Facebook, we have our own Pack group where we share lots of photos and info. Please join us! Here is the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/489041917837318. The page is called Cub Scout Pack 109 - Rock Hill SC Group. Be sure to include your scouts name in the questions when requesting to join. I've declined several requests lately from people obviously fishing to get in for info. We keep it private so that we can freely share pics of our events with kids in them and not worry about the outside world seeing them.

Upcoming Events:

April 1-2 Kennedy Space Center

May 6 - NOVA day for scouts that have sold 50 or more cards

May 12-14 Camping trip to Morrow Mountain State Park in NC
