Pack 109 Updates - 4/16/2024

Hello Scout Families! We are quickly approaching the end of the official scout year! Make sure that you are in contact with your den leaders to know if your scout has anything they need to work on to catch up. We still have a few scouts that are working on earning their rank. The final order for belt loops and awards will be entered on May 13th so that is your deadline. Here are a few updates to look forward to.

Monday, April 22 - EARTH DAY!!! - We are changing our Pack meeting to here so that we can celebrate! We will have a guest speaker, or two, to discuss conservation. We will follow this up by collecting trash as a unit around the church and nearby businesses/neighborhood. This time will count towards a conservation project if you are looking for that for one of our awards.

April 29, May 6, May 13 are regular den meetings.

May 10 - 12 is our Spring Campout at Chester State Park. To register to go fill out this form: Charges will be applied to your troop web host account soon after registration. Total cost for all meals and camping will be $23 per person. Dens and respective parents will be responsible for one meal which includes menu, prep, cooking and clean up. I will manage the grocery shopping. Details in form for more explanation.
Friday dinner - Webelos
Saturday breakfast - Wolves
Saturday lunch - Lions/Tigers
Saturday dinner - Bears
Sunday breakfast - all (usually leftovers, cereal and fruit)

May 20 is our Spring Picnic. We will celebrate our last meeting of the summer with hotdogs and burgers provide by Woodland UMC. Each den will organize sides to share with each other and with our cooks from Woodland. Your den leaders will have more info on that. This is also our last chance to present rank awards to our scouts. At the end of the meeting our scouts will officially "Rank Up" to the next level in scouting! June 1 starts the next scout year for them.

June 13 - 15 is our Resident Summer Camp at Camp Durant! To register:
Price is $100 for the first scout and then $50 if you have a sibling or a second scout attending. Scouts must be a Tiger or above to attend. Remember that when you register your scout they will be at the next rank for summer camp. So if you have a current Lion, they will be a Tiger by summer camp so that is what you put on registration. You must be a registered leader as an adult in order to attend and the cost is $30. Please send me a copy of your receipt that you will get by email after registration is complete. That way we can be sure everyone going gets the correct information.

June 17-21 is the York District Day Camp. Check-in on June 16 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at Bethelwoods. This check-in is for medical form turn-in, t-shirt pick-up, etc. Attendance for check-in is mandatory for your scout to participate throughout the week. Camp meets daily from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm (Sessions will run from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm). All campers MUST be picked up by 5:00 pm each day.
